A few years ago I was invited to facilitate a worship session in a women’s prison. We were getting ready to setup our gear, piano, guitar, speakers, microphones, the works, when we realised we had no idea how to do this setup. While struggling to figure out how to power up the piano, some of the inmates joining the worship session started to worship. I don’t remember the song, I just remember looking up at these women, so broken, but so deeply in love with God. Their surrender was so authentic and powerful, and the Holy Spirit so undeniably tangible. I realised that day, that the Lord is always present and loving, even more so in the moments that all we have to offer is our surrender and our worship.
